Inflation! Autorickshaw guys to add to the misery!

It's true that the economy world over is in doldrums, thanks to the fuel crisis.
To add to this frustration, are the absolutely insolent autorickshaw fellows in chennai.
Since we moved out of our apartment last weekend, I have been staying with my In-laws in t-nagar, which is supposedly the most crowded and congested suburb of the city, as it is infested with shops .So everyday I need to leave home half an hour early for work, as this is the amount of time spent in haggling with the absolutely RUDE auto guys.
They demand almost twice, thrice the normal fare and most of them even refuse to take you to your destination.
These guys ought to learn something from the autorickshaw fellows in Bombay, who never refuse you a ride and charge you exactly to the meter and even return change back, however small and insignificant it might be.( even 25 ps or 50 ps).
Well I guess it is not only the autorickshaw guys who are to be blamed ,but the TN Govt. too.
Chennai is the only metro city in India where auto guys just do'nt put on the meters.(Although they do carry the most fancy and latest electronic meters! what a waste!)

I miss my home

Well, finally, we finished packing off all our stuff, and moved out of our apartment in Chennai on 15th.Packing and moving is truly a pain in the &@*#. But am I glad that part 1 of packing is over. Now a two week respite until we unpack and move into our new apartment in Bangalore.
I miss the house that we were staying in.It was such a nice spacious cosy and well planned house , in a posh and decent area and everyone who visited our house loved it.
It was so convenient and centrally located.
It's true indeed, "HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS"

Kudos to Mommy ( U r the best!)

So when I realized that I had lost my gold ring which was made for my mom during her wedding and she gave it to me for my wedding, I had to immediately convey the news to my mom, who is away in U.S., visiting my bro.
Now any other mother would have felt miserable about loss of gold, and would have chided the daughter for being so careless. But you know wht my mom said" She said it's ok, after all it is just an object, and that she had no attachment towards any materialistic possessions."
All she said was, you will find it... and that if she were me, she would rather spend her time reading a book than waste time searching for the ring!
Can you believe that? and true to my mommy's words ,I found it next day in office!

MOMMY DARLING, U R THE COOLEST , THE BEST!
VIKS N I R TRULY BLESSED TO HAVE YOU AS OUR MOMMY!
WE LOVE U & I MISS U!

A week of highs and lows!

Well this was quite a tedious week , We got the news that there might be some delay in getting our new apt in blr ( which was due on 1st sept). So we were actually thinkin of lookin out for another apt on rent.
This was very stressful especially for my hubby. And in the middle of all this, on wednesday noon in office i realize that my gold finger ring was missing. It was a family heirloom! Searched for it in office and at home that nite. But cld not find it.As if all the tension that we were goin thru was not enough! But then as the saying goes "after dark, there is light."
I did some reiki on wednesday nite , in which I have tremendous faith,(by the way I am certified reiki 2nd degree).
Thursday morning, came in early to work and found my ring below my desk.
Friday morning, we got the news that the apt would also be ready by 1st sept.
So after a tumultous week , am glad that the week has ended on a happy note!
( And my venky will also be here tomm... ca'nt wait to see him!)

Busy bee!

My blogs have seem to become a weekly feature these days.
Well for starters, work has been crazy busy, as I am working on completing my final assignment in my current job.( I am quitting this job by the end of the month, as we are moving to Bangalore.) I intend to finish off this bIT of work by end of the week well before the deadline of the month end.
So once, I am through with that I can disembark on the next task of looking out for a job in Bangalore.
Thankfully, last weekend was relaxed and peaceful during Venky's visit to Chennai.(Managed to get cpl of hours of sleep too during the noon both on saturday and sunday , which I have not done in a long time).
Will have to slowly start packing this week as we are gonna be moving out of our apartment by next weekend.
And am takin off a lil early from work today to go buy some clothes for my birthday! YIPEE!
