After literally months of waiting, shopping, coordinating outfits with jewellery, accessories, shoes, etc.. the most awaited wedding in the family neared commencement!
Day 1: Mehendi and Cocktail
Reached Chennai on 13th July morning and went straight to Neels. Later just before noon, checked into the ITC guesthouse where some of the family, cousins, etc. were staying.
I have to mention here about the ITC guesthouse which is a nice sprawling bungalow with a nice lawn and a courtyard, off ECR road very close to the beach.
After a delicious lunch of Aloo parathas, made by the guesthouse cook, the guests started pouring in for the Mehendi which was at the ITC guesthouse..!
A kollattam session was conducted by Gauri aunty, with all cousins and aunties joining in..!
While the Mehendi session was taking place in the hall, some cousins, led by Brinda akka rehearsed some songs and dance for the evening cocktail party, This session of song and dance practise was so hilarious, and goofy, but fun all the same..!
The Mehendi event concluded with some catered snacks as part of evening tiffin... sevai.. vadai and halwa.... etc.. :)
